A truck driver has been fined $8,000 and given a year’s probation for his role in an accident that led to the death of a pedestrian on an Aecon job site in Richmond Hill in the summer of 2019.

The drop of 0.4 percent is the second in a row. And while activity in the residential sector remains strong, investment in the non-residential has yet to climb back above pre-COVID levels.

The Crown corporation has selected Aecon, Buttcon, EllisDon, Kenaidan and Pomerleau to bid on major works to its Montreal and Toronto yards. Proposals are due in July and August.

Under construction for three years, the new 23,000-square foot terminal includes a number of significant enhancements, including indoor waiting spaces and an above-ground link to Scotiabank Arena, the PATH and Union Station.

The projects funded in a pair of November 20 announcements will enhance infrastructure assets in Rainy River and Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory in the Bay of Quinte.
