The municipalities will receive a combined $26 million for making progress against their 2023 housing targets.

In its Labour Force Survey for January 2024, Statistics Canada reports that national, all-industry employment rose by 37,000 workers (+0.2%) in January, following three months of little change. 

The project scope of work includes the construction of a new building – the Secure Care and Recovery Building, to support CAMH’s forensic services.

The announcement is the first in a series the province intends to make in the coming weeks. The province says it achieved 99% of its housing target last year.

The government says the December decision by the Ontario Energy Board would increase costs for homebuyers at a time when affordability is a key concern.
