The companies will work with Merolinx under an alliance agreement to build the new interchange station that is part of Toronto’s broader transit-oriented community plan.

Steel joint manufacturer iSpan Systems was fined $260,000 for its role in the incident. East Elgin Concrete Forming Ltd was fined $140,000.

The organization, which says it expects supply and affordability to drop even further in 2024, is calling on all three levels of government to take action.

The crew made the discovery on Friday while working on a water service line on Withrow Avenue, a street near Toronto's famed Greektown, the city said in a statement. 

The report says Honda is looking at several sites, including next to its existing plant in Alliston, Ont., with a potential investment decision expected by the end of the year.
