The council is proposing three actions mayoral candidates could take to boost housing supply in the city, and speed up construction of new units.

The province attributes the gain to the various promotional programs put in place by government and industry groups.

The city completed $166 million worth of infrastructure development work last year. That figure more than doubles the city’s output in 2021.

Phase 1 of the Laclie Street Reconstruction project and Tecumseth Street Reconstruction project were awarded to Arnott Construction Ltd. Both begin on Monday.

The project is renowned-architect Frank Gehry’s first residential building in Canada, and has achieved $1 billion in sales since its launch in June of last year.
