IO releases winter market update
Infrastructure Ontario has released what it calls a minor update to its P3 pipeline document.
The document contains procurement timeline updates on four projects—the Ontario Line Subway, the Grandview Children’s Treatment Centre, the QEW Credit River Bridge, and the GO Expansion: Union Station Upgrade - Platform Expansion.
Additionally, the Grandview Children's Treatment Centre has advanced from planning to pre-procurement, and the GO Expansion: Union Station Upgrade - Platform Expansion project will be delivered using an alliance model.
In September, Infrastructure Minister Laurie Scott indicated the government would provide more frequent updates to its P3 pipeline. It pledged to deliver major updates in the spring and fall—with information on new projects to be delivered and revisions to procurement timelines. Minor updates would be provided in the summer and the winter. Those will not introduce new projects, but will provide revised procurement timelines and project status updates.
"We know that our private sector partners in the infrastructure industry rely on the P3 Market Update to marshal their resources and organize their teams to deliver projects critical to the lives of people of Ontario," said Scott. "I look forward to working with them to build new hospitals, roads, courthouses and transit systems."
The new document colour codes all changes made since the fall market update.
The next update will occur following the provincial budget.
"I look forward to the release of the spring 2020 P3 Market Update, which will contain new P3 projects to be delivered across the province," said Scott.
