IO issues Grandview Kids RFP
The three public-private partnership teams shortlisted for work on the Grandview Children’s Treatment Centre Redevelopment project have been given a formal request for proposals document from which to work.
The teams were shortlisted in February based on criteria identified in a request for qualifications process that began last September. Selection criteria included design and construction capability, experience, qualified personnel and financial capacity to undertake a project of this size and scope.
The teams are Children’s First Consortium led by constructors Amico Design Build and Sacyr Construction, EllisDon Infrastructure Healthcare led by EllisDon, and Grandview Connection Group led by Pomerleau.
Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and Grandview Kids expect to announce the successful proponent next spring.
The project scope calls for consolidating the main Grandview site in Oshawa with five satellite locations across the GTA into a single, purpose-built facility located on a six-acre site in Ajax.
The new Grandview Children's Centre will provide family-centred care for children and youth with physical, communication and developmental needs and their families in the Durham Region.
The latest market update published by IO suggests that the project will be valued at less than $200 million.
Last summer, IO announced that it had selected global design and consulting firm B+H Architects to serve as the planning, design and conformance team, and Colliers Project Leaders to serve as project manager.
