Bruce County appoints new director of transportation and environmental services
Bruce County has appointed a new director of transportation and environmental services.
The municipality announced recently that it has named Amada Froese to the role. Her appointment is effective February 14.
As a member of the county’s senior leadership team, Froese will administer the planning, design, construction, maintenance and administration requirements of the county’s road system, develop its Climate Change Action Plan, and update its Waste Management Master Plan.
Bruce County’s transportation and environmental services team oversees approximately 650 kilometres of roads and 148 bridges, as well as 80 kilometres of bike trails, 4,850 hectares of forest, and the county’s waste diversion and disposal initiatives.
Froese is a licensed professional engineer. She has served as the director of infrastructure and development services for the Town of Saugeen Shores since 2017, where she was responsible for the strategic direction and oversight for public works, engineering, environmental, and development services.
She is also a Fellow of Engineers Canada, a Member of the Order of Honour with Professional Engineers Ontario, and an executive committee member with the Municipal Engineers Association.
“Infrastructure in Bruce County is evolving with traffic demands and regional growth. We extend a warm welcome to Amanda Froese, our new Director of Transportation & Environmental Services, who will carry out our recently approved Master Transportation Plan,” said Warden Janice Jackson.
