GHD awarded CMAR contract for Toronto wastewater treatment plant
Consultants GHD have been awarded a contract by the City of Toronto to upgrade the Humber Treatment Plant – North Plant.
The project will modernize the city’s second largest wastewater treatment plant infrastructure, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and enhance operational efficiency. The plant serves more than 650,000 people.
The project will be delivered through a Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) contract that is designed to foster collaboration, encourage innovation, and achieve cost certainty. It will be the first issued by the city from the project initiation stage.
The project calls for replacing aging infrastructure and improving reliability, and plant performance, and is expected to lower greenhouse gas emissions.
“This initiative will enhance operational efficiency and performance, while establishing a new benchmark for capital construction projects within the Greater Toronto Area,” said GHD Canada’s executive general manager Steve Lecuyer.
Supporting GHD are subconsultants All Things Collaborative Delivery, Cobalt Water Global, MGAC, JenTech Inc., and Polytechnique Montreal.
