Contract awarded for roundabout construction in Rideau Lakes
The Ontario government has awarded the contract to build a roundabout in the Township of Rideau Lakes to R.W. Tomlinson Limited.
The province says the roundabout at the intersection of Highway 15 and County Road 42 will improve road safety and create construction jobs.
“Our government is investing $30 billion to build the highway infrastructure we need to get drivers where they need to go on time and safely,” said Transport Minister Prabmeet Sarkaria. “The new roundabout at Highway 15 and County Road 42 will improve road safety as we continue our work to expand highway infrastructure across the province.”
The project scope of work includes reconstructing existing pavement, modifying intersection entrances, improving drainage and installing new lighting and landscaping.
Earlier this year, the province announced it was replacing the Highway 401 Choate Road Overpass and Ganaraska River Bridge as part of its plan to accommodate the future widening of Highway 401 near Port Hope. Construction started in May 2025.
