RFQ issued for new provincial science facility
Infrastructure Ontario, alongside the Ministry of Environment, Conservation, and Parks and the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development have issued a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for teams to design, build, finance and maintain a new Science Facility Complex located in Oakville.
The new complex will permanently replace the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks’ facility at 125 Resources Road and the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development’s temporary facility at 6295 Northam Drive.
The complex will bring together the ministries’ existing operations into a single, modern, science and laboratory facility that will strengthen Ontario’s capacity to deliver on critical mandates of protecting the environment, public health, and safety.
The RFQ is the first step in the process to select a team to help deliver the project. Io and its partners will review shortlist teams with the required design and construction experience, as well as the financial capacity to deliver a project of this size and complexity.
The shortlisted teams will be invited to respond to a Request for Proposal, which is expected planned for release next spring.
