GHD awarded contract for Humber Treatment Plant upgrades
The City of Toronto has awarded a contract to upgrade the Humber Treatment Plant – North Plant to GHD.
The project aims to modernize the city’s second largest wastewater treatment plant, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and enhance operational efficiency. The plant currently serves more than 650,000 people.
This project is being delivered under a construction manager at risk model, and is the first time Toronto has used the model. The city is implementing the approach to strengthen industry collaboration and accountability in large-scale capital delivery.
“As a supplier of engineering services for the City of Toronto, we are committed to successfully implementing the CMAR delivery model to modernize secondary treatment systems and decrease greenhouse gas emissions,” says Steve Lecuyer, Executive General Manager – Canada for GHD. “This initiative will enhance operational efficiency and performance, while establishing a new benchmark for capital construction projects within the Greater Toronto Area"
Supporting GHD are key subconsultants – All Things Collaborative Delivery, Cobalt Water Global, MGAC, JenTech Inc., and Polytechnique Montreal.
