Vaughan approves Toromont Master Plan
The City of Vaughan has officially approved the Toromont Master Plan, a downtown mixed-use development in the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre (VMC).
Located on Toromont Industries' 27-acre site along Highway 7, the approved master plan will introduce 17 towers, including a 73-storey tower, and deliver more than 9,950 residential units across four development blocks.
The development will contribute approximately 784,561 square metres of residential space alongside office, hotel, retail, and community-oriented uses.
The plan also includes 1.60 hectares of new parkland, featuring Millway Linear Park and Central Park, direct access to the VMC subway station, and more than 8,000 bicycle parking spaces.
The plan will be delivered in four phases, with Phase 1 introducing more than 3,294 residential units, office space, and the first sections of the new park network.
"We are delighted to have designed and help guide this project through to its final approval," said WZMH Principal Len Abelman. "We are also incredibly proud of the collaborative effort between our team, Toromont Industries, the City of Vaughan and Council, and the many consultants and stakeholders who helped bring this vision forward. We are excited to see the project move toward realization and contribute to Vaughan's continued growth as a vibrant urban centre."
