The project to build The Peter Gilgan Mississauga Hospital and Shah Family Hospital for Women and Children has been named the 2025 IJGlobal PPP Deal of the Year – North America.

The consortium behind the project, which includes EllisDon, PCL, Fengate Asset Management and Plenary Americas, accepted the award earlier this month.

Although the IJGlobal Awards ceremony is primarily geared toward equity investors and developers, EllisDon says the success of the transaction reflects the efforts of hundreds of individuals across design, construction, facilities services, and other teams.

“This recognition highlights the strength of the public‑private partnership model and the close collaboration between development partner PCL, clients Trillium Health Partners and Infrastructure Ontario, and equity partners Fengate Asset Management and Plenary Americas,” said Jeff Brace, Head of Infrastructure, EllisDon Capital. “It also reflects the important contributions of lenders and advisors who helped establish a new benchmark for megaproject financing in Canada. While the full list of contributors is extensive, this award belongs to everyone who played a role.”
