RFP for North York General tower closed
Infrastructure Ontario has closed the Request for Proposals stage for the North York General – New Patient Care Tower redevelopment project.
All four teams shortlisted last summer to respond to the RFP submitted bids. They include: Building Beyond Alliance, which is led by Bird Design-Build Construction Inc. & Graham Design Builders LP, North York Healthcare Alliance, led by Pomerleau Inc. & Ledcor Construction Limited, and consortia led by EllisDon Corporation and PCL Constructors Canada, respectively.
The new tower will include patient care spaces and underground parking connecting to the hospital’s existing building to enable flow of patients, staff, and materials. The new tower will include up to 317 private patient rooms, expanding the acute care capacity by up to approximately 100 net-new beds, in addition to expanded spaces for critical programs and services.
The project is being delivered through Infrastructure Ontario’s alliance delivery model.
Infrastructure Ontario expected to announce the alliance partner in the summer. During the alliance development phase, the partners will work together to advance the project’s design and mitigate project risks.
Project implementation is expected to begin after the development phase.
