Wages are growing quickly in Canada, but so far not fast enough to match inflation, an RBC Economics report said. 

Statistics Canada’s latest look at building construction prices shows an increase of 1% in residential costs in the fourth quarter and of 1.6% in non-residential costs.

The investment enables the hospital to upgrade its HVAC system, replace an aging generator, and continue with facility improvements designed to mitigate COVID-19 transmission.

Issues like labour shortages, inflation, health care system vulnerabilities, and forecasts of an economic contraction are dampening confidence in the province’s economic outlook.

In its latest outlook, the Financial Accountability Office of Ontario said the province's economic growth is expected to slow sharply this year with a modest recovery beginning next year.
