Data from Statistics Canada’s Core Public Infrastructure Survey shows a rapidly increasing pace of growth in construction of the country’s water infrastructure in 2019 and 2020, but more investments are needed to repair deteriorating assets.

The company will work with Maple Reinders to help deliver on the project’s technical, operational, financial, environmental and social objectives.

The incident occurred in February 2020 at a high-rise residential construction site on Yonge Street in Toronto. A worker was crushed by a 13-tonne excavator counterweight.

Labour Force Survey data released by Statistics Canada on July 8 shows a seasonally unadjusted increase of 53,300 workers (+3.5%) in construction in June. The jump brings the number of people employed in the industry to 1,580,600 – the most on record.

The rehabilitation project calls for upgrades to the boiler plant, digital control system, and change rooms, which will help reduce energy use and emissions, improve accessibility, and make the facility more comfortable for residents.
