In a speech to Women in Capital Markets in Toronto, senior deputy governor Carolyn Rogers said a clear view of the future has been hard to come by over the last two years.

Funded in part by Natural Resources Canada, the competition will issue grants of up to $500,000 for as many as 16 building-renovation projects that will curb GHG emissions by 2025.

Held across Canada and the United States, the annual event aims to raise awareness of the industry's ongoing commitment to building a culture of safety through sharing best practices, tools and resources at job sites and offices.

The fixed-price contract for the work is valued at $224 million. EllisDon Infrastructure Healthcare will design, build and finance the project.
