A report released by the Residential and Civil Construction Alliance of Ontario looks at the economic impact of construction of the proposed Highway 413, and suggests the work could create thousands of jobs annually and billions in worker earnings.

Ontario’s Progressive Conservative government is reiterating its support for another controversial Greater Toronto Area highway project.

The above-ground site will house 1.3 million tonnes of contaminated soil and industrial waste, and is a key component of the broader Port Hope Area Initiative to clean up low-level radioactive waste in the municipalities of Port Hope and Clarington.

De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Ltd. says it will begin decommissioning its Toronto facility after it completes aircraft currently under production.

Up to $3,000 will be allocated to each participate to help them develop skills that can be used on the project to twin Highway 17 between Kenora and the Manitoba border.
