The funding will help the St. George Campus become climate positive by 2050 and reduce greenhouse gas emissions across the campus by approximately 50 percent.

The union says the striking workers inspect amusement park rides, food trucks, elevators, fuel burning equipment, boilers and pressure vessels and elements in nuclear power plants, as well as support to police and fire services.

Of the funding, $550,000 has been allocated to the Hybrid Timber Floor System Project led by EllisDon and DIALOG. A further $110,000 is being directed to a project to study the use of mass timber in modular applications.

The funding will support 33 projects of various scopes, including one to outfit a 20,000-square foot Exhibition Hall at the Canadian Canoe Museum.

The additional operations aim to help the company solidify its key role in supporting Eastern Ontario's rapidly expanding construction industry.
