Ontario businesses enforcing the province's COVID-19 vaccine certificate system won't have to verify medical exemptions, the government said Tuesday, acknowledging the system was vulnerable to fraud.

The facility is expected to span more 117,000 square feet, and will include two NHL-size ice surfaces and a modern library with proper program space and meeting rooms.

The funding will be used to convert a former hotel into 42 permanent emergency shelter units for women and families experiencing homelessness.

A new survey says wages are going up in Canada, with employers projecting an average annual pay increase of 2.5 per cent for next year.

Their respective policies will require Canadian employees working at any location on company business to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by November 1.
