Two new funding programs, and a top up to a third, are aimed at helping Canada’s airports pay for critical infrastructure upgrades.

The federal and provincial governments have committed nearly $2 million to projects in Essex, Wellington and Lambton counties to improve broadband service delivery to nearly 1,400 homes and businesses.

Every province saw drops in their real gross domestic products in 2020. While Ontario’s GDP fell by 5 percent, the province’s construction output was strong.

Ontario and the federal government have struck an agreement that will see Ottawa kick in $12 billion to help build several transit projects in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area over the next decade.
