ADP Canada’s latest national employment report shows country-wide job losses of more than 231,000 in January, including 45,000 in the construction industry.

In a series of announcements in February, the senior levels of government announced more than $6 million in funding for infrastructure projects in three communities.

The construction industry presents unique challenges for COVID-19 vaccination policies and pandemic-related health and safety matters. These challenges arise primarily from the involvement of multiple employers being present at any given construction project with overlapping responsibilities relating to occupational health and safety.

Construction work started in March 2019 and wrapped up in November of that same year. The project adopted a complete streets concept that places emphasis on accessibility and comfortable travel for all road users.
