Ground broke on the new facility on June 15, and the scope of work will see the construction of a clubhouse that will serve as a youth services and community interest facility.

The announcement sees 39 municipalities share in $1.6 million worth of funding to develop or enhance asset-management practices.

The expanded Ontario Line subway project in Toronto isn’t scheduled to open until 2027, but Metrolinx has already given the public a taste of what three of the line’s stations will look like.

The work, which will proceed under a public-private partnership (P3) arrangement, calls for widening a stretch of road of approximately 16 kilometres from two lanes to four between Essex and Leamington.

The money will allow the company to adopt a new panel finishing line that will increase productivity by 50 percent. The company will also use the funding to create seven new full-time jobs.
