The new CCDC 2 updates the standard form contract to catch up with recent prompt payment and adjudication changes in Ontario (and soon other provinces). It also introduces a number of other changes to both reflect more recent trends in contracting and to otherwise streamline the contract.

The joint funding from the federal and provincial governments will upgrade water and wastewater infrastructure in three communities in northern Ontario.

The firms will work in joint venture to renew government research facilities across the country. Their contract could be worth as much as $100 million over five years.

The move is part of a broader strategy by the company to divest itself of what it calls higher-risk, lower-margin construction services. The firm is currently involved in several major Canadian infrastructure projects, including Toronto’s four priority transit works.
