The Ottawa-based on-demand construction-materials delivery service has partnered with a California-based electric-vehicle fleet as a service provider to electrify its fleet beginning early in the year.

Parking−lot field hospitals can be built in as little as two weeks, have anywhere from 40 to 93 beds and are connected to the hospital by covered walkways. The temporary buildings have their own heating, cooling, air filtration and permanent plumbing for washrooms and showers.

The industry ended 2020 with an employment loss. For the entire year, construction employment is down 80,000 jobs, or 5.4 percent, and the threat of a partial industry closure in Ontario only leaves the industry in a more precarious position.

The online tool enables residents to build their own action plans to help the city realize its goal of shedding 1 million tonnes of CO2 before 2030, and being net zero by 2050.

Ontario is issuing an order requiring residents to stay at home starting Thursday, except for essential activities such as accessing health care or shopping for groceries, and further delaying in−person classes for students in some hot spots.
