A recent survey by the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers found that engineers, graduates, and hiring mangers view systemic bias as a major problem in the profession. The society revealed details of a plan in response.

The city spent $18 million on road and sewer construction and rehabilitation work in 2020.

The rate of construction of water infrastructure grew from around 6,000 kilometres per year between 2000 to 2016 to 13,000 kilometres per year in 2017 and 2018.

The Financial Accountability Office estimates the province owns infrastructure worth about a quarter of a trillion dollars. Overall, it says about one third is in poor repair.

The group, which consists of constructors Kiewit and Alberici in joint venture, and designers WSP Canada Inc, will work on several improvements at the station to increase capacity as part of the expanded GO Transit rail service.
