Max Mantha assumes the role of senior vice president for Eastern Canada, while Richard Whyte steps into Mantha’s previous role of vice president and area manager for EllisDon Toronto Civil.

The college will use the funding to create a new delivery model for five courses traditionally taught in the classroom to both apprentices and journey carpenters.

Data from Statistics Canada’s Labour Force Survey (LFS) for April shows that sectoral employment rose for the third consecutive month. The industry added 30,700 workers (+2%) for the month, although employment remains about 21,000 workers below pre-pandemic levels recorded in April 2019.

The agreement allows CEC and PQS designates to automatically be accepted into the Gold Seal program—some without sitting the Gold Seal exam. Meanwhile, Gold Seal certified estimators can immediately earn their CEC designations.

The clinic run by Mississauga, Ont.-based EllisDon has seen more than 15,000 people book appointments, scheduled between May 19 and 26.
