With 1.4 million people in the province unserved or underserved by broadband technology, the province has freed up a significant sum to expand its broadband network.

The province announced funding of $6.5 million for the project on October 19. Construction is targeted for completion by spring 2022.

Nine companies have been selected from 17 applications to become mentees for the 2020–21 year. They will be paired with industry leading firms who will provide them with insight to refine their products or services for market.
