After nearly 25 years of service with the company, Randy Reymer takes over as EllisDon’s Vice President and Area Manager for Southwestern Ontario.

Funding from the Government of Canada and the Federation of Canadian Municipalities sees the city invest in two projects that will lead to net zero emissions.

The town will use the federal money to perform a feasibility study for the project. A new district energy system could reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 96 percent compared to conventional technologies.

Lower payroll hours in construction in May were likely caused by strikes in Ontario and British Columbia that delayed many projects. Job vacancies in the industry remained at historic levels.

The Canadian economy stayed flat in May, with growth slowing down as businesses continue to face supply constraints and rising interest rates, though economists say the current cycle of interest rate increases is expected to continue into the fall.
