A $500-million plan will see significant renovations to such facilities as FirstOntario Centre, FirstOntario Concert Hall and the Hamilton Convention Centre

The project will clear a troublesome bottleneck along Highway 6 in the village of Morriston, and is part of the $2.6 billion the province has in place to expand and renovate highways and bridges.

Much of the funding will be aimed at its distribution centres, but 150 stores will also be renovated with new technologies.

The green building technology company has entered into manufacturing agreements with three companies to produce its proprietary products. One of three new plants will be located in Ontario.

The city will fund about one-fifth of the cost of a study for the preliminary design of a bus transit system through the 17-km Dundas Corridor.
