This newfound attention crosses partisan and regional lines and involves various policy experiments and institutional reforms. Successful efforts in this area would not only help to meet the economy’s need for specialized labour, they would also boost opportunity and earning prospects for the persistent share of Canadians without post-secondary qualifications.
  • ASHRAE makes resources available to address COVID-19 concerns The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) recently launched a web page that provides guidance to its members on how to help address coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) concerns in the operation and maintenance of heating, ventilating and air-conditioning systems.
  • EllisDon to build $105-million mass timber structure at Centennial College Centennial College announced last month that it has selected partners EllisDon, DIALOG and Smoke Architecture to construct the first zero-carbon, mass timber higher-education building in the country. The $105-million expansion to the Progress Campus A Block building will be the gateway structure at Centennial’s Progress Campus in Scarborough. It will embody the college’s commitment to Truth and Reconciliation and sustainable design.

  • Carlo Bot inducted into Ontario Road Building Hall of Fame Carlo Bot, of Teranorth Construction & Engineering Limited, Sudbury, is the newest member of the Ontario Road Building Hall of Fame. Bot was honoured at the Ontario Road Builders’ Association 93rd Annual Convention and Annual General Meeting in Toronto. Bot led the list of several individuals and companies honoured at the event for their contributions to the industry and to their communities.
